Existence of a temperature plateau during a change of state for a pure substance. Because it's powerful, and it is powerful because it's encoding all the information that you need to predict the future dynamic properties (energy, impulse...) and state of the particle or system that it describes, thus putting all that information in one function honestly is a very neat thing, you just need to know the right way to "extract" this info from it, that much better of having a set of different numbers that just makes thing more complex.

The fundamental principle of quantum mechanics is that there is an uncertainty in the location of a subatomic particle until attention is focused on it by observing its location. This is completely different from the case of the Schrodinger equation. In 1932 the renowned mathematician and physicist von Neumann published a proof that no more complete theory could be consistent with the predictions of quantum mechanics[ 51 ][ 50 ]. This must mean that the light is transferring energy to the metal, so in theory it is possible that if you shone a light on a surface for long enough, enough energy would be transferred to liberate an electron from an orbit.
